Earlier in the month, I went to a conference in Cambridge where Michael Heppell (author of several books including ‘How To Be Brilliant’) spoke. If you ever get a chance to see Michael speak then I’d highly recommend you go.

At the conference Michael asked the audience:

‘How many of you could use more confidence?

Is there anybody here who can honestly say that they have all the confidence they need in every area of their life?’

Nobody’s hand went up.

In fact, Michael has asked that question to over half a million people over the last thirteen years and has yet to have anyone answer yes.

So what stops you?

Overcoming Fear

When I work with clients to help them improve their confidence it usually comes down to FEAR:

• Fear of what others will say/think
• Fear of being judged
• Fear of not succeeding
• Fear of succeeding
• And any other fears

Michael has a very apt definition of what fear really is:
