SME National Business Awards at Wembley – Hypnotherapy in Ely and Newmarket

Earlier this month I headed down to Wembley for the SME National Business Awards 2022. As a result of winning the gold award for Service Excellence at the Ely Business Awards, I was shortlisted for the national award in that category, alongside twenty other businesses from across the country.

Now, I hadn’t been down to the ‘new’ Wembley so I was super excited just to see the iconic stadium for real, instead of on TV. And what a fantastic stadium it is, a vast upgrade to the old stadium where I went to watch some rugby game or other many years ago.

I had a chance to wander around the outside of the stadium in the daylight, before my wife and I got all dressed up and headed there for the awards dinner in the evening.

And so after exploring the area around the stadium, it was time to get dressed up and head over to the Awards evening itself.

The evening started with a recorded interview where I talked about hypnotherapy and my business and had a brief chat about how zoom hypnotherapy came into its own during the pandemic and how it means that anyone, wherever they are located around the world, can access sessions to help them with issues such as anxiety. As well as working with people all across the UK this year, I’ve been able to help clients right across Europe and beyond through zoom hypnotherapy sessions (which can be just as effective as face to face sessions: Effectiveness of Online Hypnotherapy – Dan Regan Hypnotherapy Zoom and Skype).

Then it was time to hang out in the bar, which for a sports fan like me is a sort of mini paradise. There are videos, photos, memorabilia, trophies and all sorts of sports related items and information to do with games hosted at Wembley. My wife was less interested in these so I only got to take a brief look!

Anyone who knows me knows I don’t really drink but I think I managed half a bottle of Bud!

And then onto the dinner and entertainment. It was great to chat with the other businesses at our table and to learn more about what they do and their successes.

We also had the chance to take a look at the pitch itself (sadly we weren’t allowed on for some shooting practice) which is pretty awe inspiring even when empty…

And so onto the exciting bit of the night, the awards themselves…

I was super proud just to have been invited to the finals and to be a national finalist with my hypnotherapy business. There were about twenty businesses shortlisted in my Service Excellence category and sadly there was no national award for me this time around. Huge congratulations to all the awesome businesses who were finalists and to those who won (and congratulations to FRESH in Ely for picking up an award!).

As well as being a national finalist, I’m just super proud to have taken the gold award for Service Excellence at the Ely Business Awards. As this is my local area, and is based upon client feedback, this one means more to me than anything else.
