Social Anxiety Review: Feeling More Confident and In Control

Anxiety has a way of taking over your thoughts and feelings. You can find yourself thrown from one negative thought to the next, caught in a cycle of overthinking, racing thoughts and anxious physical sensations. You may start avoiding situations or simply endure them while your mind races and your body feels on edge.

Everyone experiences unwanted thoughts from time to time. The difference with anxiety is that those thoughts seem to gather momentum. They demand your attention, making it feel difficult to take back control of your own thinking.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is hearing from people after they’ve completed their sessions and discovering how different life feels for them.

That is always one of my main aims.

Rather than becoming dependent on therapy, I want people to leave with practical skills and confidence that they can continue using long into the future.

Many people who come to me for anxiety therapy describe how they like to feel in control. Sometimes people mistakenly believe hypnotherapy involves giving up control. In reality, the opposite is true. Hypnotherapy helps you take back control over your own thoughts and feelings so that anxiety is no longer in charge.

Feeling in control again is something many people believe isn’t possible when anxiety has been around for a long time.

Fortunately, anxiety usually follows understandable patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours – and those patterns can be changed.

As people begin responding differently to anxious thoughts and feelings, they often notice improvements not only in anxiety itself but also in confidence, relationships and everyday life.
