Stop Overthinking It – Hypnotherapy in Ely Vlog
In this video, recorded while I was out jogging around the beautiful New Forest, I talk about how we often have a tendency to overthink things and to be harsh towards ourselves. Instead, just start to accept that you are ok as you are. This is also the video where I get freaked out by one horse unexpectedly kicking out at another while I was talking! Stop overthinking it
Hello, it’s Dan here. I hope you’re good today. As you can see I’ve got the horses behind me. I’m still here in the New Forest on our last day. It’s a bit cooler today, which is lovely, and I’m just out doing a sort of jog, walk, explore, seen some deer and I’ve got these horses behind me and, the thing about horses is, you know, as long as they’ve got food, and they’re still alive and they’re with their herd, they don’t overthink it, they just get on with it, they just eat grass, poo, wander around and they’re perfectly happy. And they make noises like that.
But as humans we have a tendency to overthink stuff, to criticise ourselves, to give ourselves a hard time, whereas in fact if you start to accept that generally you’re just okay, wherever you are you’re okay as a person, you’re okay in who and how you are, you’re okay in what you like and dislike. We’ve always got aspects of ourselves we can improve on and get better at, whether we want to be fit and healthier, whether we want to learn more, whether we want to progress in some way, but if you accept the way you are right now, and you support yourself and be kind to yourself, and you encourage yourself, and you love and support yourself, then – I was not expecting that – that made me jump – that’s one horse kicking another horse, I think I’ll just wander on now but, yeah, if we just accept ourselves for who and how we are, that gives us an opportunity we can still improve, we can still get better and stuff, we all do, we all adapt, we all want that, we all want to improve in some ways – I wish they wouldn’t do that – accept you’re okay, be happy in yourself, accept you can learn, you can improve, you can get better at stuff. I can better at getting away from horses, doing whatever horses do, perhaps they are overthinking it.
Don’t overthink it, just feel okay in yourself, be happy, work on yourself, put time and effort into yourself, but always do it from a place where you send love, kindness and support yourself. And just enjoy being you, accept you’re okay, remind yourself of that, send love, encouragement and support yourself. Work on yourself, we’ve all got areas to improve, we all adapt, we all get used to where we are and then want more, accept that’s the human condition but always accept and just know that wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, whoever you are, you are okay in yourself and work from that base. And I’m going to continue on my run and leave those horses to kick each other as much as they want to, what’s a horse doing in the forest that kicks another horse, like there’s not enough forest to go around. And I will speak to you very soon. You take care now. Goodbye.
